quilling flag
This shape is called a "Flag" and I will describe how to make it here:
  • Take your strip of quilling paper (width does not matter) and fold it in half length-wise
  • Do not glue the strip
  • Starting from the end that is open, start a coil
  • You only want to make a few turns and as you turn you will see the end where the fold is will start to push out, like a flag.

I call this shape the Heart T-Scroll, because of the way I placed the shapes together.  This worked well for making scroll shapes like Christmas trees and Dresses.
